Ashtanga Yoga – Primary Series:  It's a disciplined practice designed for practitioners seeking structure, challenge, and growth. Rooted in the Yoga tradition, the Ashtanga Primary Series, also known as Yoga Chikitsa (Yoga Therapy), contains approximately 75 Asanas, though the exact count can vary depending on how vinyasas and variations are counted.

 

The series is structured into several sections:

    1.    Opening Sequence – includes sun salutations (Surya Namaskara A & B)

    2.    Standing Postures

    3.    Seated Postures

    4.    Finishing Sequence

 

Each pose is traditionally practiced in a set order, with a Vinyasa linking many of them, making the practice continuous and physically demanding. These Asanas remain the same in every class. This consistency allows you to deepen your practice over time, refining alignment, breath control, and mental focus.
